We put together this comprehensive media relations initiative by combining our years of experience and valuable relationships with the input received from the community via two different surveys and ongoing discussions on Discord. For more than 12 weeks, there will be ongoing dissemination of SmartCash content to a vast audience.

SmartCash community will be able to see all placements and featured content from crypto enthusiasts as well as official press releases and recent tweets from the official SmartCash Twitter account. It will be mobile friendly and built on Wordpress so new content can be efficiently added via blog/rss functionality.


Other Tools to Accomplish Objectives

  • MeltWater – Ability to identify journalists that recently wrote on blockchain/cryptocurrency for targeted outreach ($6,000/year fee already paid by us and not part of this proposal)
  • Communication Task Force (CTF) – This is a specialized group I’ve helped build with Antonio Clark to encourage collaboration among marketing professionals in the SmartCash community


Overview of Strategy

Please note that the impact of our efforts will be felt towards the end of this term; not the beginning. Fifteen days before the end of this 90-day proposal, we plan to submit a new proposal to carry on and make enhancements to the initiatives presented in this proposal. As with all forms of branding and engagement initiatives, consistency is key. Our approach has always been to steadily build audiences and increase engagement methodically over time through continual branding. We view this 90-day proposal as only the first step in a long-term journey to build momentum by maintaining top visibility.

The first half of our proposal lays a solid foundation via content creation, adding impact to grass roots efforts, building awareness and establishing credibility. The second half of our proposal continues these efforts while starting journalist outreach and reaching many more people by placing SmartCash in heavily trafficked news sections of large-cap companies via NetworkNewsWire’s Brand Awareness Distribution program (see details: http://brbn.io/K4IUo).

What We Bring to the Table

This comprehensive plan was put together utilizing the specialized knowledge gained through assisting more than 200 small, publicly traded companies via our parent company The Global Precision Group (established 8 years ago). Blockchain Relations, a registered tradename, was formed as a special division to leverage the first-hand cryptocurrency knowledge and mass news distribution experience of Jonathan Keim (http://www.linkedin.com/in/jonathankeim/) and his team to bring mainstream media and the cryptocurrency markets together.

The infrastructure and relationships outlined above are already in place and capable of touching millions of people around the globe; a sizable percentage of which now hold bitcoin and are eager to be further involved in next-generation blockchain technology. We are also leveraging 8 different in-house brands to provide ongoing third-party coverage of every news event to reach more individuals, eliminate the stigma of self-promotion, attract further interest and provide new perspective. Our long-term plan calls for further expansion and SmartCash will gain the increasing benefit of this growth throughout the next 12+ weeks.


Goals of this Proposal

  • Continually place SmartCash in front of millions of people visiting news sites every day
  • Encourage more grass roots efforts through increased recognition and added impact via news dissemination
  • Build up credible content for people to discover while campaign is underway
  • Grow the SmartCash community by bridging the gap between mainstream audiences and the cryptocurrency market
  • Position SmartCash as a next-generation cryptocurrency that solves real-world problems in a practical way
  • Educate the market of how easy it is to accept cryptocurrency via SmartCard and highlight its many benefits that are unrivaled by other payment technologies
  • Increase the prominence of the SmartCash website through valuable backlinks and increased traffic


How Others can be Involved

  • Submit content on the new SmartCash News Media Tracker website
  • Join the Communication Task Force to discuss outreach strategy on weekly basis
  • Become part of core team (requires 6+ months of engagement, deep knowledge of SmartCash and commitment to long-term success)

Note: Founders will be a key part of this campaign as well and we’ve been in regular communication with Decentralizd. Approvals will be gained before official press releases are disseminated.


How Payments are to be Made

  • Milestone payments must be paid in the order specified for the community’s peace of mind (i.e. a new phase can’t be paid for until the prior one is finished).
  • Each global press release will be paid upfront due to high expense, but will be fully written prior to disbursements of funds.
  • Management/administration, articles and their distribution costs, journalist outreach and all other costs are paid at the end of each month once completed.
  • The brand awareness distribution campaigns are paid upfront individually, but we will pay the full amount for both campaigns ourselves after receiving payment from accountant of the first half for the first campaign. This is to reduce community risk while still securing the large discount for committing to do two campaigns instead of one.
  • All other items are paid once deployed/completed.

    One of the concerns I've received privately is that the press release price is a clear reason why someone would vote "no" on our proposal. As with every detail, we put a lot of thought into our choice. We want the best for SmartCash and that means balancing cost with performance, while also keeping main objectives in focus. PRNewswire starts at $8,700 (yes, they do have more reach, but we don't believe it's worth the cost for those extra networks and GlobeNewswire achieves our objectives) - MUCH LARGER AUDIENCE as the $99 PRWeb releases many know about don't include the far larger content syndication network, more professional media users, significantly higher profile in newsrooms and nearly as many sites re-syndicating the content The SmartCash website is currently in 21 languages and aims for global adoption. In strictly a business point of view, it wouldn’t make any sense at all for a global entity with $102 million international community budget to do official releases in only one language targeting a very small list of websites and journalists.

    By the way, we have been working on getting the cost down on PRs via NetworkNewsWire since they are a direct reseller of GlobeNewsWire and buy 100s at a time upfront. So far they've only purchased state-wide and nation-wide releases upfront, but are working on global now for us and future crypto deals. We'll pass along the savings (in form of extra words or money depending on how their negotiations go, but the extra words would be more helpful) by purchasing the PRs from NetworkNewsWire once locked down.

    This proposal has been more controversial than we thought possible (although it's fully understood that it goes against the standard crypto mindset). Currently, the number of votes now total 42 million when the prior highest turnout for a proposal was 6.3 million (and most awarded proposals have less than 2 million). *** But I've been told that a point of contention is that this proposal is nothing more than an extremely high cost for syndicated/automated press releases.
